Karlie Kloss x Warby Parker

Living in the heart of a city, needs are apparent everywhere I turn. As the mother of two young boys, I find myself most engaged when needs impact children. As I share more and more about DC with you, I also want to share about organizations that are making an impact in this city, particularly those in the arena of elementary education.

One such organization is The Edible School Yard Project (ESYP). This program collides my passions for eating local, growing your own food, and serving our neighborhood children.
The mission of the Edible Schoolyard Project is to build and share an edible education curriculum for kindergarten through high school. We envision gardens and kitchens as interactive classrooms for all academic subjects, and a free, nutritious, organic lunch for every student. Integrating this curriculum into schools can transform the health and values of every child in America.

So what does this have to do with a supermodel and eyeglass company?

Karlie Kloss has teamed up with Warby Parker to design a line of sunglasses -- to celebrate the collaboration, Warby Parker is donating to the NYC Edible School Yard Project (so not technically my backyard, but awesome never the less!) for each pair sold. Not only are the sunglasses sleek, feminine, and lightweight, perfect for this humid summer, but they are doing double the good. As always Warby Parker is giving a pair of glasses to those in need for every pair purchased. They are also supporting a cause both Karlie Kloss and I are passionate about. Have you heard of The Edible School Yard Project before?

I am eyeing the Clara Heirloom in Gold, shown on Karlie above. How about you?
