Life of Behr: 28 Weeks

Behr is nearly 32 weeks, but we are taking a few steps back to reflect.  We wouldn't want to let Behr's first summer fly by.  We are trying to slow down time and enjoy every accomplishment and fit of laughter that we share together.  Here is Behr at the end of July.

Behr:

loves all food and devourers anything we give him
began to screech when he gets really excited
behr sweats a lot
enters into bouts of giggles and laughter that gets the whole family rolling
enjoys books more and more
especially board books which he holds himself and even turns the pages
greets us with wide eyes and happy flapping arms when we arrive home from work
still hates grass and loves sand

really loves sand

Our photo session quickly turned into snack time for Behr.
All boy!

Life of Behr: 25 Weeks

Well, it is high time we learned that not everything in life goes as planned.  Life isn't perfect.  We skipped a few weekly pictures.  But the good news is we are finally catching up on this little craft inspired by fellow bloggers.  Here are a few weeks and the top highlight.

18 Weeks: Behr began holding his bottle...and grabbing at everything!

19 Weeks: First Plane Ride, a trip to New Orleans with plenty of pictures to cover.

20 Weeks: Visiting lots and lots of family
Began blowing drool bubbles
Rolled over from stomach to back for the first time

21 Weeks: Behr attended his first wedding.  Congratulations Shawn and Lauren!!!

22 Weeks: Stopped pooping and worried Mom and Dad
Began chewing on hands and toes
The drool continues to drip constantly

23 Weeks: First Beach Trip.  Do you see the tan?  You better not!  That must be the lighting.  Mom slathered lots of sun screen and got me UV protective clothing and even a UV tent/bed/playpen.

24 Weeks: First 4th of July and Fireworks
{which fell during bed time, so they weren't actually seen!}
Began sitting up all by himself!
Grew out of the swing.

25 Weeks: Began clicking his tongue and gurgling

Other highlights:

the talking just keeps getting louder
we started our first solid food, carrots, and seem to love them
{video coming soon}
practicing giving a high five - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
learned to throw things and laugh...hmmm...
getting very mobile
chews on everything, including mom's chin
loves to swim in the pool

Life of Behr: 17 Weeks

Four Months Stats:
12 lbs. 5 oz. - 8th%
25.25 inched long - 70th%

Just as long and skinny as we suspected!

Behr these days...

full of giggles

clutches toys

grunts when he farts
{and sometimes even lifts a leg}
ALL BOY!

folds his hands in an almost prayer like position when he is content and happy

grabs onto the hands that are feeding him

gives flirty eyes

and loves when we sing to him

On his Patemm Changing Pad.   This thing is amazing!  Thanks Sara.

getting read for beach season!

Life of Behr: 14 Weeks

These days the moments with Behr are filled with...

grabbing toys, links are a favorite.

sunny walks around the capitol.

supper happy smiles whenever momma and daddy come home from work
...or any period of time away.
it is pretty awesome.

cries have reached new heights.
face reddens and veins bulge.  this boy has some serious lungs.

books are back in style and read often.

fascination with lights, especially the television.
he is already trying to sneak tv time!

bottle holding with both hands.
this kid knows where the food comes from and holds on tight when he is eating.

p.s. Auntie Katie Mac, I am slowly getting some chunk!  See...if I squeeze my legs, I almost have rolls!

The Life of Behr: 11 Weeks

The pace at which these weeks are flying by will never cease to amaze me.  Behr is going to be heading off by college before I know it!  Okay, okay, that might be a tad bit dramatic...

Over the past few weeks we have begun to fall into a bit of a routine.  Recently, Behr has been...

drooling

cooing

making dramatic facial expressions
smiling/frowning/looking scared out of his mind

mimicking both verbally and facially
when we coo "ah" or "oo" sounds...he copies us
when we smile, be replies with an in kind gesture

sticking his tongue out
it is an entirely new activity for him.
he looks in the mirror and literally cracks himself up by sticking his tongue out.

not sleeping
this boy fights nap time/bed time like no other!

The Life of Behr: 8 weeks

Where is the time going?  How are the weeks flying by so fast?  My little boy is starting to chunk up before my eyes and I am having lots of emotions.

Behr now wants to be in constant motion

His favorite place to sleep is in the arms of mom or dad

The saying that March roars "in like a lion, out like a lamb," is proving to be true about Behr.  He has certainly been roaring these days.  The screams have reached a new octave and his face a deeper shade of red than I have ever seen before.  My fingers are crossed that the "lamb" part is coming soon.

Behr is totally over his boppy...
{because he knows it means he is no longer in momma's arms}

...and books at the moment

Behr smiles when daddy comes home from work and says hello.  It is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen and my heart melts each time.  I love that he recognizes his father.  Nothing in the world beats the smile of a baby.

{woops!  zoomed in a bit too much this week.}

I am trying to cherishing each and every moment.  The screams, sleepless nights, and exhaustion are worth the world.  I love this kid so much I can hardly pull myself away from watching him sleep.  He is a champ.  I cannot wait to see what the next few weeks have in store!

Life of Behr: 5 weeks

Whoa!  How is our baby already 5 weeks old?  Time is moving too fast already.  We are beginning to establish some likes and dislikes.  Here are a few of Behr's favorite activities:

dancing with momma to music by ben taylor and amos lee

singing "twinkle, twinkle, little star"

boppy time with mirror

hanging out in the bathroom
{literally, behr's favorite room.  he stops crying immediately upon entry}

reading books, especially "little blue truck" and "i love you stinky face"

being carried by daddy...anywhere!

The Life of Behr: 2 Weeks

So...I am going to try to keep you posted on all things baby with a combination of blogs I have seen.  I love how Young House Love has kept track of their daughter Clara's growth.  And then my friend Julie {yesterday's guest blogger} did an update of what life with her little Levi has looked like over the past 14 months.

So I present to you, a combination of the two, "The Life of Behr"

Wake Up to momma singing "Rise and Shine, and Give God the Glory..."
Diaper Change & Feeding
Play Time in the boppy, I look in the mirror while Momma puts in her contacts and starts coffee
Reading Time, a few books until I fall asleep for my morning nap
Diaper Change & Feeding
Play Time with momma
Diaper Change
If I take another nap, momma hurries to eat lunch
Diaper Change & Feeding
Baby Wearing Time, so mommas arms can rest and I calm down
Enter the Witching Hours: late afternoon - midnight
Diaper Change & Feeding, now a bottle from daddy
Momma and Daddy eat dinner while I keep them occupied
Diaper Change & Feeding
Clothing & Diaper Change to get ready for bed
Daddy rocks me until Bed Time
Diaper Change & Feeding
Keep momma and daddy awake
Diaper Change & Feeding
Sleep until morning
{sometimes the wake and sleep time in the middle of the night switch places!}

Needless to say, there are a lot of diapers and feedings consuming our days right now.  I am excited to keep track of this "schedule" every few weeks to see how our little life evolves.  Once I return to work in mid-Spring, we will see how this post series evolves, but for now I am going to take one Diaper Change & Feeding at a time...
