Wardrobe Inspiration: Fairly Legal

I have not adopted a new favorite TV show in years!  But a Fairly Legal, a new series from USA has got me hooked.

The series is comic, witty, talked intelligently about realistic issues and most importantly, fashionable.  I have fallen head over heals for the main character, Kate Reed's wardrobe.  Leading me to wonder, can I replicate her hollywood-ized outfits with real life clothing?!  Yes!  Check it out:

Cloth Diapering: g-style

behr sporting some g-style

1.
we use gdiapers with disposable inserts
{because we don't have our own washer and dryer}

why g diapers?
a. we love the company
b. less bulk for small size than diapers that grow
c. convenience of disposable liner for reason stated above
d. it never occurred to us to try a different brand

2.
behr loves it and gets diaper rash less/his diaper rash clears up when in cloth
{seriously.  it is a huge added bonus.}

3.
we have a divided household
momma puts behr in cloth/disposable and dad uses disposable

why divided?
a. we were given loads of diapers from generous friends and family
b. we considered, but didn't commit to cloth before behr was born
c. we are easing into cloth diapers
d. when it comes time for day care, we will have to use disposables

4.
they are easy and we haven't had "sterotypical" problems
no leakage
no smell (problem)
of course they smell, it is just not an issue
no massive increase in laundry

5.
resources we appreciate:
and more...I am sure there are more.
as I remember what they are I will add them here.

6.
we are open for questions and/or advice.
please leave us some comment love.

Saturday Shoes: Gold Boat Shoes

In college I bought a pair of Michael Kors, gold lame, loafers that I sincerely adored.  I wore them all four seasons and loved them to death.  I only parted with them when the holes in the soles were larger than what was left of the leather bottom.  Literally, I could no longer leave the house with them.  This brings me to my next shoe of choice, goal boat shoes from Sperry.  The only problem is I can't decide which I like better!

Newborn Snoring

In the past few weeks, Behr has accomplished some new feats.  Most notably, he has begun to snore.  Not frequently.  In fact it is such a rare occurrence that Daddy has not yet seen heard it in person.  Ahh...the power of a video camera.  We have captures the adorable {yes we are biased} seen to share with the world readers of this blog.  If you have 30 seconds to spare, I think it is pretty darn cute.

Life of Behr: 5 weeks

Whoa!  How is our baby already 5 weeks old?  Time is moving too fast already.  We are beginning to establish some likes and dislikes.  Here are a few of Behr's favorite activities:

dancing with momma to music by ben taylor and amos lee

singing "twinkle, twinkle, little star"

boppy time with mirror

hanging out in the bathroom
{literally, behr's favorite room.  he stops crying immediately upon entry}

reading books, especially "little blue truck" and "i love you stinky face"

being carried by daddy...anywhere!

My Valentines

"the longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes"
- frank lloyd wright

our numbers:
we have been married four and a half wonderful years
nine years of incredible friendship
and our baby, Behr, is over one month old...already!

How are we celebrating?  Well...Mark and I almost forgot.  It is okay to forget a silly holiday.  We know our love is strong.  We will give each other a rain check.  Besides, with a new baby, there is plenty of snuggling to go around.

LOVE on etsy

With Valentine's day right around the corner, I find my fingers scrolling through etsy cherishing the "love."  Here are a few favorites:

Brooke's Career High 27 Points

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that I my little sister Brooke plays high school basketball for Villa Maria.  {I play the role of proud older sister.}  Last night, Brooke scored a career high, 27 points, helping her team win in OT during her last home game of her high school career.

It made the evening news!  Brooke is #22

Online Mags

Life is not all about the baby...

...it is just mostly about the baby right now.  He requires a lot of time!

Have you taken the jump into online magazines yet?  I have two loves that I thought I would share with you. &

&

I am in love with both.  Nothing will ever replace Domino.  But these two magazines certainly come close to giving me my decorating/design/shopping/luxury goods fix!  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Saturday Shoes: Quoddy

So...

...some might call me stupid, but I decided not to buy a single pair of shoes in 2011.  Crazy right?  Well, not as crazy as having 100+ pairs in a tiny apartment.  No sooner did I make this pact with myself and begin announcing it to the word, did I began falling in love with shoes I had never seen before!  Ahhh...  Thus a new mini series has been born.  {how else would I keep track of all of the shoes I want to buy in 2012?}

Shoes will be posted on Saturdays
and perhaps I will lust over them
but I will not purchase
just drool

My newest obsession:

The Quoddy Ring Boot

These moccasins in brown would be perfect for life as a mom.
Yes please.

Do you have shoes you think I would die for?

Go ahead
suggest some shoes for the series
try to tempt me!
I dare you!

Tummy Time = Running

Is it bad that Black Eyed Peas lyrics stream through my head while I spend quality time with my son?  Not nursery rhymes or "Jesus" songs...Black Eyed Peas.  I would argues that I have a good reason.  You see, each time I subject Behr to his despised tummy time...he tries to run away!

video

excuse my very novice video editing skills...

See...Black Eyed Peas!

There really isn't any other sound track suitable for tummy time with Behr.
